The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parlma bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

A big right from Parlma misses.
Chilli Parlma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Parlma closes this distance looking for a takedown but Higgens circles away.
Parlma throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Parlma goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Higgens counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Parlma is trying to get back to his feet.
Higgens trying to control the action but Parlma is working from the bottom.
Higgens will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parlma might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Higgens haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Parlma misses with a hook.
Higgens slaps away a takedown attempt from Parlma, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Higgens looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Parlma!
Higgens happy to just control the position for now.

Parlma manages to get back to half guard.
Higgens wants to control but Parlma is keeping him busy.
Higgens is really struggling to control Parlma but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Higgens is taking a breather. Parlma says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Higgens is keen to just control but Parlma is a slippery customer.

We're going to have a standup here because Peter Higgens wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Parlma has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Higgens should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Parlma has tightened it up now! Higgens should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
