And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Watson!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Watson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Vasin wants to get back to his feet but Watson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Vasin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Watson on the ground.
Vasin looking to control.
Vasin wants to sweep but no luck.
Watson wants to pass the guard but Vasin is keeping the position.
Watson passes into half guard.
Watson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Watson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Vasin is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Watson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Vasin tries to lock up and control but Watson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Watson is trying to take his opponent's back.

Watson wants to finish this one by submission but Vasin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Watson.
Watson avoids the attempt from Vasin to control.
Vasin reaches up to try and control the position but Watson seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Vasin rolls and tries to escape and now Watson has his back!

Steve Watson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Vasin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Watson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vasin somewhat.
Vasin closes the distance and clinches up with Watson, looking for a takedown. Vasin pushes Watson against the cage but Watson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Watson moves away from the strike by Vasin.

and Watson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vasin won't be happy with that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Halay Vasin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Watson just content to control the position.
Watson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vasin keeps working.

Vasin is looking for a sweep.
Watson tries to score with some ground and pound. Vasin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Watson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vasin, who protects the arm well.

Steve Watson has got the better of the ground game so far.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Steve Watson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Let's hope that Watson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Vasin throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Watson blocks it with crossed arms.

Steve Watson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Watson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
