Bruce has chosen Joy Division - Atmosphere as his entrance music. Jean Sibelius could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bobby Bruce's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bobby Bruce!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruce walks into a straight right hand from Sibelius.

Sibelius closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bruce quickly recovers to half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bruce is looking to improve his position.
Sibelius wants to control but Bruce is keeping him busy.
Sibelius throwing shots but Bruce is blocking nicely.

Sibelius is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bruce defends it well.

Bruce tries to land a front kick but Sibelius steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Sibelius has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sibelius drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bruce manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sibelius has Bruce in his guard.

Bruce lets loose with a powerful body kick. Sibelius will feel that in the morning.

Sibelius drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


It looks like Jean Sibelius has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bruce ducks under a wild hook from Sibelius.
Bruce takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Bruce uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sibelius.
Bruce lands with a nice body punch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bruce tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Sibelius is able to avoid easily.
Sibelius is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bruce.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jean Sibelius will probably get the nod.

That's time! Sibelius's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Sibelius is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bruce.

Sibelius seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Sibelius cracks Bruce with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Bruce lands with a hook. Sibelius tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Sibelius throws a poor cross that misses
and Bruce counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Sibelius throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sibelius takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sibelius throws a series of punches but Bruce avoids them all with ease.
Bruce tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sibelius was well out of range. Poor timing from Bruce.

Sibelius closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sibelius lands in his opponent's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sibelius throws a big right hand that misses.
Sibelius stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bruce swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bruce seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sibelius throws a strike but Bruce rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Sibelius is trying to hold Bruce in close to prevent damage but Bruce has managed to pass into half guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sibelius, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In defeat, Bobby Bruce stepped up to the mic, saying 'I knew this was gonna be tough. I gotta give up the fighting or the drinking, I can't keep doing both!'.
