Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pikku Näkäräinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Katsu Higashikuni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Näkäräinen comes to the cage accompanied by Juice Leskinen - Vaasankin veri vapisee. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Pikku Näkäräinen!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Katsu Higashikuni!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Näkäräinen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Higashikuni sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Näkäräinen checks the leg kick nicely there.
Näkäräinen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Näkäräinen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Higashikuni manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Higashikuni has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Näkäräinen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've been hearing good reports from Näkäräinen's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Higashikuni is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Näkäräinen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Higashikuni has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Näkäräinen has managed to get both his arms back between Higashikuni's legs - danger averted.

Higashikuni escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Näkäräinen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Näkäräinen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Higashikuni is on top in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Higashikuni has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Näkäräinen to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Higashikuni is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Näkäräinen pulls down on the head and he's put Higashikuni to sleep! This one is all over!
