The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poter scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sturridge in his tracks.
A punch combination from Sturridge misses.
A swing and a miss from Sturridge.
Poter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Poter keeps the fight on the outside.
Poter keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sturridge.
Poter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sturridge wants to clinch but Poter slips to the side
and Poter counters with a one-two to the body.
Sturridge scores with a nice right hand.

Sturridge closes the distance and pushes Poter back into the cage.
Poter gets underhooks to prevent Sturridge's takedown attempt.
Poter wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sturridge is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Poter pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Poter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Poter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sturridge manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sturridge throws a lazy uppercut
and Poter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Sturridge clinches.
Sturridge drops down looking for an ankle pick but Poter pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Sturridge. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sturridge looks to land a combination but Poter avoids it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Poter feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sturridge sprawling to the canvas! Sturridge rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Poter finish him?!

Sturridge is rocked!

Poter cracks Sturridge with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!
