The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez shoots in for a takedown but Andersson shows good takedown defense.

Mendez closes the distance and clinches.
Mendez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Andersson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jonas Andersson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Andersson Throws a clean left jab. Andersson Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Mendez's chin! Mendez crumbles to the ground and Andersson follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Andersson!
