The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O'Sullivan gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lim.
A chopping leg kick lands by Lim.
Lim throws a head kick that misses.
Lim throws a nice outside leg kick.
Lim needs to keep his hands up - O'Sullivan had a free shot at his head there.

O'Sullivan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lim is trying to defend but O'Sullivan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

O'Sullivan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lim sees it coming and defends easily.

O'Sullivan is looking to control Lim's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can O'Sullivan avoid being mounted?

O'Sullivan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lim gets the underhooks and prevents it.

O'Sullivan has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lim is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lim tried to land a shot to the body but connects with O'Sullivan's elbow.
O'Sullivan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lim after a bit of a struggle.

Lim lands a right hand.
Lim swings wildly with an uppercut but O'Sullivan uses good head movement to avoid it.
O'Sullivan drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lim is working O'Sullivan over against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

O'Sullivan blocks a body shot from Lim.

Lim fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
O'Sullivan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lim just stands there and leans against the cage.

A close second round but Charlie Lim will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lim jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lim feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to O'Sullivan's calf.
O'Sullivan moves out of range of the body kick from Lim.
Lim fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. O'Sullivan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

O'Sullivan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lim looking to stall.
O'Sullivan misses with a hook to the ribs.
A frustrated look appears on Lim's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Lim can't find room to land a body shot as O'Sullivan controls the action.

O'Sullivan wants the takedown. Lim is fighting it off but O'Sullivan persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lim's guard against the cage.
O'Sullivan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lim swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lim is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lim pulls O'Sullivan in close to prevent any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Charlie Lim hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

O'Sullivan misses with a takedown attempt - Lim sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lim swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That kick from Lim tenderised O'Sullivan's leg. O'Sullivan is trying to keep his angry face on.
Lim lands a nice hook to O'Sullivan's body. O'Sullivan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

O'Sullivan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
O'Sullivan shoots in for a takedown but Lim shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

O'Sullivan has hold of one of Lim's legs. Lim is fighting the takedown attempt but O'Sullivan gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Lim seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
O'Sullivan looking to sit in guard and control but Lim gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Lim throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by O'Sullivan.
Lim throws a right and a left that O'Sullivan avoids nicely.
O'Sullivan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lim pulls out of a head kick attempt.

O'Sullivan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Lim!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

That's time! O'Sullivan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Lim stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lim wants it to stay on the feet.
O'Sullivan shoots in but no luck this time.
A slapping leg kick lands for Lim.
O'Sullivan moves out of range of the body kick.
Lim pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Lim jabs O'Sullivan to the body, keeping him at a distance.
O'Sullivan on the wrong end of a nice jab.
O'Sullivan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lim.
That kick from Lim tenderised O'Sullivan's leg. O'Sullivan is trying to keep his angry face on.
O'Sullivan is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Lim lands with a kick to the temple. O'Sullivan shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Lim lands a nice looking body kick.
Lim fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Lim lands a right hook to the body.

O'Sullivan misses with a takedown
and Lim counters with an outside leg kick.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
O'Sullivan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

A lull in the action here as O'Sullivan stalls from top position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lim has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. O'Sullivan is working away from the top position though.
O'Sullivan working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Lim's thigh. Lim counters though and makes it back to full guard.

I think Lim has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In defeat, Daniel O'Sullivan stepped up to the mic, saying 'Gutted. Seriously gutted about that result. I wanted to take that title back home with me but I just couldn't get the win tonight. Also not nice having my first loss in my MMA career.'.
