PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ichabod Crane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tor Troeng (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crane kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Way of The Ninja. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ichabod Crane!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tor Troeng!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crane throws a poor cross that misses

and Troeng moves into the clinch.
Crane misses with a body punch.
Troeng stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Troeng is trying to trip Crane. He has hold of a leg but Crane is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Troeng persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Troeng drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Troeng jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Troeng slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Troeng pushes down on Crane's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Troeng is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Troeng is trying to work for a kimura but Crane is defending well.
Crane on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Troeng is controlling the pace.
Troeng scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Troeng connects with a nice short shot to Crane's temple.
Troeng working over Crane with some ground and pound. Crane looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Troeng is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Crane is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
