PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Sonny Bill Uru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Can Crusher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uru comes to the ring accompanied by The Man - Aloe Blacc. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crusher swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Uru missing with a left hand there. Crusher was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Crusher wants to clinch.
Crusher misses with a leg kick.
Crusher throws a series of punches but Uru avoids them all with ease.
Crusher fails with an attempt to clinch.
Crusher swinging wildly here.
Uru wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and Crusher counters by clinching up.
Crusher is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Uru is keeping busy.
Crusher looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Uru rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Crusher moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Crusher tries to clinch up but Uru circles away and keeps his distance.
Uru stuns Crusher with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Uru lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Crusher moves forwards but Uru connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Crusher tries to move into range but Uru moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Crusher tries to close the distance and clinch up but Uru swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Can Crusher seems to be getting the better of the standup.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

No joy there for Crusher, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Crusher fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Uru, pushing him back against the ropes.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Uru takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Crusher is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Uru has denied him.

Crusher tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Uru manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Uru looks to land a combination but Crusher avoids it well.
Sonny Bill Uru has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Can Crusher is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Crusher takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Can Crusher.
Well Crusher has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
