Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Shouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Mcintosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rick Mcintosh has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Mcintosh!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcintosh closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Shouse swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Shouse has managed to clinch.
Shouse wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mcintosh looking for a takedown.
Mcintosh gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shouse .
Mcintosh is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Shouse pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Mcintosh escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shouse scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mcintosh doesn't seem bothered though.

Shouse shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mcintosh's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Shouse controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Shouse lands a couple of digs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcintosh wants to stand but Shouse is controlling the position.
Shouse scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Shouse 's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Mcintosh had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shouse defends it easily.
Shouse controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Mcintosh trying to control the position.

Shouse is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Mcintosh trying to keep a closed guard but Shouse is proving a slippery customer.

We're going to have a standup here because Joshua Shouse wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Mcintosh throws a head kick that misses.
Mcintosh ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mcintosh tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shouse swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shouse misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Shouse fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mcintosh shoots for a double leg takedown but Shouse sprawls well. He's pushed Mcintosh's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Joshua Shouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Mcintosh.
Mcintosh lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mcintosh throws a front kick aimed at Shouse 's knee but Shouse avoids it well.

Shouse has Mcintosh up against the cage in a clinch.

Shouse breaks from the clinch.
Shouse tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mcintosh paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Shouse shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Shouse is working Mcintosh over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Shouse trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcintosh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mcintosh working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Shouse .
Mcintosh can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shouse controls the pace.

Shouse gets to his feet - Mcintosh follows without any prompting.
Shouse doesn't manage to clinch there - Mcintosh circles away.
Mcintosh shoots in but Shouse avoids the takedown attempt easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shouse tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mcintosh swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shouse shoots in for a takedown but Mcintosh shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mcintosh throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Shouse on the side of the head.
Mcintosh wants to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mcintosh pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Shouse misses with a double jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joshua Shouse dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Mcintosh tries to keep at a distance but Shouse has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shouse gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mcintosh.

Shouse has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Mcintosh regains guard immediately.
Mcintosh manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Shouse sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcintosh wants to stand up but Shouse has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Mcintosh wants to pass the guard but Shouse is defending well.
Shouse manages to get to full guard.
Shouse looking to control.
Shouse seems keen to control Mcintosh's posture.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shouse on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shouse tries to get out of the position.
Shouse wants to sweep here but Mcintosh controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Shouse closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shouse lands in his opponent's guard.
Mcintosh is looking to stand up but Shouse isn't so interested in that idea.
Shouse controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shouse is pushing down on Mcintosh's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mcintosh is fighting to maintain full guard but Shouse has managed to sneak the leg through.
Mcintosh wants to improve his position but Shouse is controlling well.
Mcintosh keeps trying to improve his position.
Shouse looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mcintosh tries to get to full guard but Shouse has control of the leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shouse working Mcintosh over with strikes.
Joshua Shouse overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mcintosh is not content to let Shouse control the position.

Shouse is working for a submission of some sort.
Mcintosh is in trouble now - Shouse has advanced to mount!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shouse punishing his opponent with strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Shouse feints and as Mcintosh raises his hands in defense, Shouse changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shouse trying to control but Mcintosh is working from the bottom.
Shouse controlling from the top position.

Mcintosh is working an open guard so Shouse takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Mcintosh avoids the head kick by Shouse .
Shouse throws a push kick but Mcintosh slaps the foot to one side.
Mcintosh is looking to clinch but Shouse is avoiding it.
Mcintosh dives in for a single leg takedown but Shouse sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Shouse is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mcintosh to keep the fight standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shouse is trying to break free.
Shouse is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mcintosh is defending well.

Mcintosh jumps guard and drags Shouse to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Shouse trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcintosh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shouse trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Shouse engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Shouse has gone for a leg lock! Mcintosh slips out almost immediately though and dives into Shouse 's guard.

Shouse throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Shouse managing to control the position.
Mcintosh looking to sit in guard and control but Shouse gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mcintosh is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shouse defends well.
Shouse is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shouse postures up in Mcintosh's guard and throws a big left but Mcintosh blocks it.

Shouse stands and steps away. Mcintosh gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Shouse closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mcintosh circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joshua Shouse . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shouse has a takedown stuffed.

Mcintosh shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mcintosh wants to control but Shouse is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shouse wants to get back to full guard.
Shouse gets full guard.
Mcintosh is looking to work some ground and pound but Shouse has wrist control.
Mcintosh tries to stand but Shouse is controlling from the bottom.
Shouse is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Shouse is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shouse manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
Joshua Shouse showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shouse , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
