PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chris Mullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Milo Papi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mullen comes into the arena with Country Boy Can Survive blaring out of the sound system. Papi has chosen IZ ON as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mullen throws a head kick that misses

and Papi counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Papi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mullen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Mullen wants to get back to full guard.

Mullen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Papi shoots in looking for a takedown but Mullen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Papi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mullen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Mullen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
No joy there for Mullen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Mullen. Papi shrugs it off though.
Mullen drops his hands momentarily and Papi takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Papi has a takedown stuffed.
Papi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mullen avoids it really well and circles away.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mullen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mullen looks to land a right hand but Papi moved out of range.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Papi and the ref steps in to end the fight! Papi can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
