Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Long Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Pineda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Juan Pineda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Long Owens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan Pineda!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pineda throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pineda keeps the fight on the outside.
Pineda throws a series of punches but Owens avoids them all with ease.
Owens is looking to clinch.
Pineda scores with a sloppy right hand. Owens should have avoided that one.
Owens tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Pineda counters with a nice double leg into side control. Owens won't be happy with that.
Owens dodges the ground and pound from Pineda.
Pineda tries to score with some ground and pound. Owens controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Owens takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pineda throws an elbow but Owens slips to the side and avoids it well.
Owens gets back to half guard.
Owens preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Owens is staying active underneath Pineda, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Owens is concentrating on defense, preventing Pineda from advancing position.
Pineda is stalling here. Owens is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Pineda seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Owens has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Pineda is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Owens has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Pineda is trying to get back to half guard.
Owens will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Owens working away.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pineda can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pineda tries to bench press Owens off him but Owens keeps the position.
Pineda wants to control but Owens postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Owens shoots in and drives through. Pineda sprawls well.
Owens wants to clinch.
Pineda misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Owens scores with a kick to the body.

Owens rushes Pineda and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Owens really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Pineda drops down looking for an ankle pick but Owens pulls his leg out and moves away.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Owens moves away from the strike by Pineda.
The fighters circling - Owens throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pineda throws a one two combo.
Danga de danga de dang - Pineda scores with a four punch combination!


Owens is rocked!
Pineda misses with a series of wild punches.
Oh Owens is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pineda avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Owens wants to clinch but Pineda slips to the side
and Pineda counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Pineda lands a huge takedown. Owens is out but the ref is slow to react and Pineda lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Owens lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Juan Pineda!
