The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin misses with a series of wild punches.
Martin swinging wildly here.
A jab lands there for Martin.
Martin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Merritt on the side of the head.
Merritt takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Merritt closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

It looks like Milton Merritt has been cut.
Martin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Merritt manages to avoid it.
Merritt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Martin lands with a right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Martin scores with a decent looking hook.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Merritt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Martin.
Martin lands with a good body shot.
Martin cracks Merritt with an open hand slap.
Martin has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Martin misses the shot to the body.
Merritt is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Martin moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
