PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Redfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silas Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redfield's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Believers . The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Redfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Silas Storm!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redfield lands a nice looking body kick.
Redfield lands with a straight right. Storm didn't see that one coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Storm throws a jab when Redfield was well out of range.
Redfield shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Redfield displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Storm.
Storm shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Redfield as he avoids it easily.
Storm has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Redfield.

Redfield throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Redfield tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Storm was well out of range. Poor timing from Redfield.

The crowd cheers as Storm lands an impressive looking overhand right. Redfield doesn't seem phased though.
Redfield looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Storm throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Redfield sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Redfield tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Redfield lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Storm tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Redfield manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Storm keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

and Redfield connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Silas Storm has been cut.
Chris Redfield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Silas Storm.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Storm shoots for a takedown but Redfield saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Redfield swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Storm tries to clinch but Redfield moves out of range.
Redfield throws a series of punches but Storm moves out of range.

and Redfield counters with a crisp one two that drops Storm! Redfield thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Storm to his feet! Storm is in big trouble!
Storm is trying desperately to land a takedown but Redfield is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Storm.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Storm takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Redfield throws the kick towards the body but Storm avoids it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Redfield lands a slapping body shot.
Redfield cracks Storm with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Redfield uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Storm.
Storm walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Redfield checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Storm manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Redfield on his heels. He'll look to pass Redfield's guard now, I'm sure.

Storm has his foot on Redfield's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Redfield works his way back into a safe position though.

Redfield is looking to take a break and control but Storm is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Redfield goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Storm rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Redfield's guard! Nice work there by Storm!

Storm lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Redfield feints a jab promting Storm to slip. Redfield then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Storm slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Storm dives in and grabs Redfield's left leg, looking for a takedown. Redfield pushes down on Storm's head and hops out.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Storm feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Redfield is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Chris Redfield overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Storm working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Redfield is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Storm can do to turn this around?
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Redfield is on top in guard.

Redfield has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Storm can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Redfield is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Storm avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Storm stands up over Redfield, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Storm not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Storm stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Redfield has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Storm manages to get his head free but now Redfield has transitioned to an armbar! Storm grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Redfield! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chris Redfield!
An out of breath Chris Redfield thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
