PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yoshi Yakiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Little Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yakiyama comes to the cage accompanied by Enya - Adiemus. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Little Man!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Yakiyama misses with a straight left.
Man changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yakiyama tries to avoid it but Man manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yakiyama to the ground. Yakiyama escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Man closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Yakiyama stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Man avoids a wild elbow strike from Yakiyama.
Yakiyama lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Little Man has been cut.
Yakiyama is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Man wants to pass the guard but Yakiyama is keeping the position.
Man trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Man with a flurry of punches that miss.
Man sitting in guard here, content to control.
Man prevents Yakiyama from getting back to his feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Man accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Yakiyama manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Man manages to get himself to full guard.
Yakiyama has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Man looking for a guillotine here but Yakiyama defends easily.
Man seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Yakiyama wants to get up but he can't break Man's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Yakiyama gets to his feet. Man looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Man dives in for a single leg takedown but Yakiyama sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Yoshi Yakiyama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Little Man.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Yoshi Yakiyama.

Our sources have told us that Yakiyama has been working on his elbows in the gym.

Little Man's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Yakiyama just misses with a elbow thrown towards Man's brow.

Man tries to score a body lock takedown but Yakiyama shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Little Man's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
