The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDermott shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Silva defends it nicely.
McDermott lands a head shot.

McDermott shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Silva manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Silva thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Silva will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bruno Silva wasn't active enough on the ground.
McDermott's jab looks to have found its range, popping Silva under the eye.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Robert McDermott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruno Silva.
Horrible takedown by McDermott or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McDermott sprawls well. McDermott wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.

McDermott shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed McDermott's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Silva is trying to push McDermott away but McDermott has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

McDermott goes for a takedown attempt but Silva pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. McDermott engages and cracks Silva with a massive lead left hook - Silva tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! McDermott is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
