PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Guevara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daario Naharis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guevara kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Che. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ernesto Guevara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daario Naharis!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guevara has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Naharis finds it's way round the side to connect with Guevara's head.
Guevara takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Guevara on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Naharis lands a nice hook to Guevara's body. Guevara takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Guevara drives through and clinches with Naharis against the cage.

Guevara decides to pull guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Guevara looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Naharis trying to control the position from guard on top but Guevara is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Daario Naharis hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Naharis lands a nice shot to the body.
Guevara takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Naharis punishes Guevara's body with a nice straight punch.

Guevara moves into range and clinches up with Naharis.

Guevara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Naharis bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Guevara shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Naharis but Naharis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Guevara takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Guevara tries to move into range but Naharis moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Guevara throws the left hand but Naharis avoids the punch easily.
Naharis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Naharis throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Daario Naharis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A big right from Guevara misses.
Guevara is trying hard to land a takedown here. Naharis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Guevara with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Naharis to score with a decent uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Guevara throws out a powerful jab.
Guevara walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Naharis with a hook.
Guevara shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Guevara has been working on his balance at Hand 2 Hand Combat $50 !!!, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Naharis.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ernesto Guevara. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Naharis moves out of range as Guevara throws a body kick.
A head kick misses from Guevara.
Naharis is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Guevara had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Guevara takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Naharis cracks Guevara with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Naharis throws a shot to the body.
Guevara shoots for a takedown but Naharis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Naharis lands a jab.

Oooooh!!! Naharis has knocked Guevara down with a huge combo! Naharis steps away and waves a wobbly Guevara back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Daario Naharis decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Ernesto Guevara spoke after the fight, saying 'Dam you Yankee Dogs'.
