Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Mera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jock Sleed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sleed is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I'm An Individual. Jock Sleed acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jock Sleed!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Mera or perhaps it was just good defense by Sleed which made him look bad.

Mera takes the fight into the clinch.

Sleed lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Sleed throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sleed swings for the body but Mera moves out of range.
Jose Mera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mera fails with the takedown.
Mera tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sleed swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Sleed counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Mera!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mera is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sleed scores with a couple of nice shots.
Oh Mera is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mera moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Mera seems to have got his legs back now.
Sleed stays in close to Mera's body and controls the position.

Sleed got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mera has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sleed has managed to get both his arms back between Mera's legs - danger averted.

Sleed controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sleed's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jock Sleed.
Sleed defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mera.
Sleed stuffs the takedown attempt from Mera. Mera gets slowly back to his feet.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Mera. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

and Sleed counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mera tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sleed defends well and Mera ends up having to push Sleed into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Sleed stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sleed lands a shot to the body.
Mera tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Sleed doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Mera misses with a short punch on the inside.

Sleed's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Sleed misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mera tries to clinch but Sleed moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sleed. Mera does a little dance to reset his feet.

Mera checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Sleed lands an overhand right.

Mera throws a right hand that Sleed ducks under and follows up with a left that Sleed also avoids with ease.
Sleed uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mera.
Mera takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Mera shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sleed but Sleed pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jock Sleed decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
