Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Ellenberger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Della Appa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antonio Della Appa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Ellenberger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Antonio Della Appa!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellenberger throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Della Appa was covering up waiting for the punch and Ellenberger finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Della Appa looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ellenberger passes into half guard.
Ellenberger is looking for a kimura but Della Appa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ellenberger to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ellenberger is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ellenberger is working for a submission of some sort.
Ellenberger works his way into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ellenberger is working to tighten his grip on Della Appa's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Della Appa has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ellenberger is really squeezing tight and eventually Della Appa passes out! Ellenberger breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Joe Ellenberger!
