Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, El Scotcho Colbs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brody Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Johnson.
Colbs circles away from the clinch attempt.
Colbs tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Johnson defends well and Colbs ends up having to push Johnson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Johnson decides to pull guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Colbs is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of El Scotcho Colbs.

Colbs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Colbs is looking to work some ground and pound but Johnson has wrist control.

Colbs fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Colbs, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Colbs against the cage but Colbs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Johnson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Colbs, pushing him back against the cage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Colbs is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Johnson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Colbs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but Colbs persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Colbs distracts Johnson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Johnson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Colbs!

Johnson is standing up, even though he is in mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that El Scotcho Colbs will probably get the nod.

A telegraphed right hand from Colbs misses the target.
Colbs looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet.
Johnson lands a head kick. Colbs smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Colbs looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Colbs throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Johnson counters with a slapping leg kick.
Johnson tries to clinch there but Colbs circles away.

Johnson tries to land a knee to the head but Colbs blocks with his arms.
Colbs changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Johnson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for El Scotcho Colbs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Colbs moves out of range easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
No joy there for Colbs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
El Scotcho Colbs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've been informed that Johnson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Colbs jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Johnson walks away with a smile on his face. Colbs gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

El Scotcho Colbs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Colbs tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Colbs to the ground. Colbs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A combination from Colbs does no damage.

A frustrated look appears on Johnson's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Brody Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Colbs throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnson was covering up waiting for the punch and Colbs finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Colbs postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Johnson has momentary wrist control but Colbs slips an elbow through the middle.
Colbs distracts Johnson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Colbs accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Colbs drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Johnson dives on top into guard.
Johnson postures up in Colbs's guard and throws a big left but Colbs blocks it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

El Scotcho Colbs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Brody Johnson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Johnson counters with a straight right hand.

Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson showed some decent athleticism there.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Johnson stands up and beckons Colbs to join him on the feet.

and Johnson counters with a big head kick but Colbs shrugs it off.
Johnson throws a nice outside leg kick.
Johnson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Colbs defends well and Johnson ends up having to push Colbs into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Johnson is trying to drag Colbs to the mat but Colbs just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Colbs manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson wants to get up but he can't break Colbs's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Colbs wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to El Scotcho Colbs.
I think Colbs has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
