PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monroe comes to the cage accompanied by Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd. Powers comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Californication kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe keeps Powers at a distance using the push kick.
Monroe lands a glancing blow to the side of Powers's head.

It looks like Jimmy Powers has been cut.
Monroe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Powers showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Monroe.
Powers takes a swing at Monroe's ribcage but misses.
Powers is looking to land body kicks.
Monroe scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Powers swings for the body but Monroe moves out of range.
Powers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Monroe.
A looping hook to the body misses from Monroe. Powers does a little dance to reset his feet.
Monroe ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Monroe chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Monroe moves out of range as Powers throws a body kick.
Powers wants to clinch up but Monroe keeps it at a distance.
Monroe displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Powers is rocked!
Monroe Throws a clean left jab. Monroe Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Powers's chin! Powers crumbles to the ground and Monroe follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Monroe!
