PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kira Doku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Holohan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doku comes to the cage accompanied by No Hands. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holohan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Doku takes the fight into the clinch.
Holohan is trying to pull guard but Doku has him pressed against the cage.

Doku's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Doku throws a left and a right that both miss
and Doku takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Holohan loads up on a big right hand but Doku slips the punch.
Holohan checks the leg kick nicely there.
Holohan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Holohan throws a head kick but Doku moves out of range.

Doku shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Doku showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doku is looking to take a break and control but Holohan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Doku seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kira Doku wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Doku shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Holohan is trying to control but can't.

Doku postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Holohan to stand up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Holohan throws a push kick but Doku slaps the foot to one side.

Doku throws a nice looking combination but Holohan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Doku counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Doku gets to his feet. Holohan looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Doku throws a low kick but it's checked well by Holohan.

Doku drives through and clinches with Holohan against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Holohan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Doku walks away with a smile on his face. Holohan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kira Doku has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Holohan.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Doku is defended easily by Holohan.
Doku is breathing heavily.
Doku leaves Holohan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Horrible takedown by Holohan or perhaps it was just good defense by Doku which made him look bad.

Doku drives through and clinches with Holohan against the cage.

and Doku counters with a left and a right that stings Holohan.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Holohan tries to clinch up but Doku circles away and keeps his distance.
Holohan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Doku counters with a one-two to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kira Doku dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
