Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Omer Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Omer Mendez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Wong!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wong avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wong is defended easily by Mendez.
Mendez shoots for a double leg takedown but Wong sprawls well. He's pushed Mendez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mendez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wong as he avoids it easily.
Wong shoots in looking for a takedown. Mendez tries to sprawl out of it but Wong keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mendez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Omer Mendez.
Well Mendez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
