The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mullen moves out of range as Green strikes.
Mullen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


It looks like Pvt. Mullen has been cut.
Mullen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Green scores with a jab to the body.
Green scores with a hook to the body. Mullen takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Green throws a right hand that Mullen ducks under and follows up with a left that Mullen also avoids with ease.
Mullen throws a hook but Green avoids it easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Green takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Mullen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Mullen cracks a nice hook into Green's ribs.
Green lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mullen at a distance.
Mullen throws out a loose jab but Green uses good head movement to avoid it.
Green fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Green swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mullen throws the left hand but Green avoids the punch easily.

Green uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mullen.
Green swings for the body but Mullen moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mullen. Green does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mullen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Mullen throws the left hand but Green avoids the punch easily.
Green pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Mullen throws a body punch but Green moves out of range.
Green tries to clinch but Mullen is having none of it.

Green lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Pvt. Mullen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mullen lands a nice shot that snaps Green's head back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mullen throws a looping overhand right but Green ducks down to avoid it.
Mullen misses with a hook. Green ducked under it nicely.

Green throws a hook but Mullen avoids it easily.
Green connects with a body shot that sends Mullen's belly button to the back.
Mullen has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Mullen gets tackled into the ropes by Green. Green maintains the clinch.

Mullen tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Green's elbow.

Green's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Green throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mullen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Green moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Green moves out of range of the strikes.
Green bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Green is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mullen.
Green keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mullen takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Mullen misses with a hook. Green ducked under it nicely.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mullen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Green. Green circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Mullen just misses with a punch to the body.
Mullen throws a nice looking combination but Green bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Green stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mullen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Mullen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Green.
Danny Green is winning the standup battle so far.
Nice defenses there by Green.
Mullen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Green lands a slapping body shot.
Mullen throws a right hand that misses
and Green counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Mullen misses with a wild body shot.
Green thows a body shot but no joy.
Mullen throws a shot from downtown. Green moves away and avoids it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Green looks to score with a jab to the body but Mullen is just out of range.
Green uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mullen has time to react.
Green showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mullen.
Mullen blocks a jab.
Mullen lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
A big left from Green misses.
Mullen misses with an uppercut. Green saw that one coming.
Mullen is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Green takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Green misses with a hook. Mullen ducked under it nicely.
Mullen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Green.
Green cracks a nice hook into Mullen's ribs.

Green connects with a beautiful left hand that drops Mullen onto his butt! Mullen bounces straight back up though - he's OK. After the ref checks him out, we're back to the action.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Green clobbers Mullen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


Mullen is rocked!


That has opened up Pvt. Mullen's cut even more.
Mullen looks to score with a jab to the body but Green is just out of range.
Mullen is still on wobbly legs! Can Green finish him?

Green cracks Mullen with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Mullen get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Mullen looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!
Mullen looks to land a right hand but Green moved out of range.
Green connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mullen momentarily.
Mullen throws an overhand right that lands on Green's shoulder, as Green tries to avoid the shot.
Green misses with a hook.
Mullen pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Mullen seems to have recovered his senses.
Mullen walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Mullen is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Danny Green!
Danny Green is the new middleweight champion!
A relieved looking Danny Green thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
