Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Otha Copeland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kalle Lukko!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Copeland gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Copeland is fighting off a takedown attempt but Lukko is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Copeland to the mat. Copeland regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Copeland looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lukko is one step ahead there.
Copeland not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Otha Copeland.

Copeland drives through and clinches with Lukko against the cage.

Copeland ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Copeland no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Copeland looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Copeland looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lukko is one step ahead there.

We're going to have a standup here because Otha Copeland wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Copeland misses with a left hand

and Lukko counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Lukko is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Copeland defends it well.
Copeland moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Lukko sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Copeland's guard.
Copeland looks like he's trying to stand up.
Copeland wants to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lukko in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Copeland tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Lukko!
