Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Simons III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crazy Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dog comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Zombie kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! John Simons III has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 43 - 26 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Simons III!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crazy Dog!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Simons III's hands.
Dog cracks Simons III with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Dog throws a hook but Simons III blocks it.
Simons III shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dog pinned against the cage. Dog gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Simons III shoots in looking for a takedown. Dog tries to sprawl out of it but Simons III keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dog manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Simons III. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dog throws a lazy right hand but Simons III sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Simons III stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dog swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Simons III's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Dog is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Simons III can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dog has control of Simons III's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Simons III regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Dog told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Dog is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Simons III is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Simons III has escaped and now he's on top!
Simons III wants to pass the guard but Dog is keeping the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dog working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Simons III doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Simons III manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A close round but Crazy Dog will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

I would just about give that final round to Crazy Dog.
Well Dog has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
