The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Estevez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Schoots moves away.
Schoots shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Estevez sprawls well. Estevez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Schoots gets slowly back to his feet.
Schoots walks into a left hand.
Schoots misses with a hook. Estevez ducked under it nicely.
Estevez looks to land a right hand but Schoots moved out of range.
Schoots gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Estevez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Estevez trying to mount his opponent but Schoots defends it.
Estevez is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Schoots sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Estevez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Schoots is just riding it out for now. Estevez eventually gives up the hold.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schoots wants to sweep but Estevez has passed to side control!
Estevez has hold of Schoots's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Schoots tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Estevez cranks the arm and Schoots screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Schoots, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
