Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oberyn Martell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Unai Arana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arana is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by NoMeansNo - Beat on the Brat. Martell has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oberyn Martell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Unai Arana!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martell keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Arana.
Martell tries to clinch up but Arana circles away and keeps his distance.
Martell throws a looping overhand right but Arana ducks down to avoid it.
Arana connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Arana jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Arana scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Arana cracks Martell with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Martell scores with the left hand. Arana knows he should have avoided that one.
Martell instigates a clinch.
Arana wants a takedown.
Martell throws a head punch that misses.
With the fighters up against the cage, Arana throws an elbow but misses.
Arana tries to throw a body punch but Martell avoids it by throwing Arana back against the cage.
Arana gets through Martell's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Arana is trying to break the clinch but Martell has him pressed against the cage.
Martell tries to work over Arana's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Unai Arana hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Martell fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Arana throws a right and a left that Martell avoids nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Arana misses the target.

Martell loads up on a big right hand but Arana slips the punch.

Martell has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Arana finds it's way round the side to connect with Martell's head.
Arana scores with a jab. Martell acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Arana, as that shot connected.

Arana moves into full mount! Martell won't be happy about that!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Unai Arana.
Arana fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Martell on the side of the head.
Arana misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Arana throws a nice looking combination but Martell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Martell takes one to the side of the head.

Martell chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Arana can pounce on him.

Arana looks to land a left hand but Martell moved out of range nicely.
Martell throws a leg kick but Arana moved away.
Good leg kick by Arana there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Arana lands with a short punch from the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Arana creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Martell misses with an elbow strike.
Martell using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Arana has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Arana connects with a knee to the head.
Martell's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Arana stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Arana throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Arana breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Arana misses with a jab, cross combination.
Martell gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Arana has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Arana thuds his right hand into Martell's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Martell is rocked!

Martell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Martell wants it to stay on the feet.
Martell thows a leg kick but Arana checks it
and Arana counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Oh Martell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Arana misses with a body shot.
Arana lands a big right hand that sends Martell crashing to the mat! Arana stays standing though and waves Martell back to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Arana not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Arana is staying tight to Martell's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Arana cracks Martell with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Arana thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martell in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Arana throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Arana tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Unai Arana comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Arana has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Unai Arana was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
The defeated Oberyn Martell had this to say: 'Through adversity we triumph. Can't know the glory of Success without failure.'.
