Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregorio San Pedro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phil Davis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis throws the left hand but San Pedro avoids the punch easily.
San Pedro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davis but Davis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Davis avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Davis closes the distance and clinches.
San Pedro working some nice short punches in the clinch.
San Pedro tries to break free but Davis pushes him back against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

San Pedro fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Davis has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

San Pedro is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

San Pedro closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Davis to the mat! Davis manages to get full guard.

San Pedro is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Davis is looking to stand up but San Pedro isn't so interested in that idea.

Gregorio San Pedro has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
San Pedro buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Davis takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
San Pedro shoots in for a double leg but Davis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

San Pedro ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Davis moves away.

Davis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from San Pedro.
Davis needs to keep his hands up - San Pedro had a free shot at his head there.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Davis throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck San Pedro on the side of the head.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Davis in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
