Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Noah Bennet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Funky Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bennet's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Unloco - Crashing. Noah Bennet has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 19 - 1, fighting out of New York, Noah Bennet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Funky Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennet goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Funky Lesnar has been cut.
Noah Bennet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bennet looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Bennet blocks the body kick.
Bennet blocks a head kick by Lesnar.
Bennet shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lesnar is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bennet's half guard.

Lesnar is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bennet doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lesnar.

Lesnar looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bennet is defending against the submission attempts here by Lesnar.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lesnar is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Bennet still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Bennet has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Lesnar wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bennet lands a few punches from side control.

Bennet decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lesnar to his feet.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Bennet - that will leave a mark!

Bennet has managed to clinch.

Bennet manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Bennet pushes Lesnar off and scrambles back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bennet throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lesnar.

Lesnar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bennet looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lesnar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lesnar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lesnar goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bennet has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lesnar but great work by Bennet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lesnar gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Noah Bennet will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Funky Lesnar's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Bennet throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Lesnar's head.
Bennet pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bennet plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Lesnar throws a leg kick but Bennet checks it.

Lesnar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bennet to the ground. Lesnar is now in Bennet's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bennet wants to get back to his feet but Lesnar is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lesnar would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Lesnar drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lesnar jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lesnar wants to get up but he can't break Bennet's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Noah Bennet just wasn't active enough.
Bennet throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lesnar throws a head kick but Bennet moves out of range.

Bennet moves into range and clinches up with Lesnar.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bennet pulls Lesnar into guard.
Lesnar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bennet pushes Lesnar off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Lesnar clinches.
Our sources have told us that Bennet has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Bennet pulls guard effortlessly.

Lesnar drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bennet manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lesnar has Bennet in his guard.

Lesnar working for submissions but it's allowed Bennet to get to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bennet lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Lesnar actively working from the bottom here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bennet decides to stand and escape the position.

Lesnar bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lesnar tries to get to his feet but Bennet is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Lesnar in his guard.
Lesnar wants to stand and escape but instead Bennet has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Noah Bennet will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Funky Lesnar's cut.
That's time! Bennet's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Bennet lands a head kick!

Lesnar dives in and scores a takedown into Bennet's guard.

Lesnar drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bennet manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lesnar has Bennet in his guard.
Bennet wants to control from the top but Lesnar keeps moving.
Bennet throws an elbow that misses. Lesnar uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bennet's guard. Nice move by Lesnar!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bennet manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Bennet pulls guard successfully.
Funky Lesnar has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lesnar postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bennet is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lesnar, into his guard.
Bennet connects with a couple of short punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lesnar looking for a guillotine here but Bennet defends easily.

Bennet gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Lesnar clinches up against the cage.
Bennet stalling.
Bennet lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bennet breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bennet scores with a sloppy right hand. Lesnar should have avoided that one.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lesnar.

Bennet moves into the clinch successfully.

Bennet gets control of Lesnar's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bennet will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Bennet scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Bennet gets caught napping as Lesnar dives in and scores a takedown. Bennet manages to retain guard.
Lesnar passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Lesnar works to advance to full mount. Bennet defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bennet is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Lesnar moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bennet has worked his arm free - good work by Bennet!

Lesnar goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bennet has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lesnar but great work by Bennet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Noah Bennet showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bennet, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
