PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sani Hassan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Turner's choice of entrance music: Hartwell arena song IIHF 2013. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sani Hassan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tom Turner!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turner darts in and clinches Hassan up against the cage.
Hassan misses with a hook to the ribs.
Hassan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A short left from Turner.
Hassan misses with a body punch.

Hassan works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hassan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

It looks like Tom Turner has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Turner tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Turner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hassan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hassan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hassan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Turner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hassan lands a couple of digs.
Hassan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The cut above Tom Turner's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Turner has momentary wrist control but Hassan slips an elbow through the middle.

Tom Turner's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tom Turner's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
