Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Payton Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Reinhardt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reinhardt has chosen On To The Next One as his entrance music. Payton Wright has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, Payton Wright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 44 - 25 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Reinhardt!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Reinhardt tenderised Wright's leg. Wright is trying to keep his angry face on.
Wright throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wright misses with a looping right.

Wright darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Reinhardt tries to get to full guard but Wright has control of the leg.
Reinhardt is staying active underneath Wright, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Wright is thwarting Reinhardt's attempts to control the position.
Wright missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Wright prevents Reinhardt from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wright lands with a punch from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reinhardt is looking to improve his position.
Reinhardt holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Wright thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Wright not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wright in particular looking to stall.
Wright seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reinhardt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Reinhardt kicks Wright off and gets back to his feet.
Reinhardt keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wright avoids the head kick by Reinhardt.
Reinhardt throws a sloppy head kick and Wright moves out of range easily.
Reinhardt walks into a straight right hand from Wright.
Wright tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reinhardt sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wright somewhat.
Reinhardt throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Wright throws a body punch but Reinhardt moves out of range.
Reinhardt scores with the left hand. Wright knows he should have avoided that one.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wright walks into a jab.
Reinhardt slips a straight right by Wright.
Reinhardt throws a quick inside leg kick.
Reinhardt keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wright.
Wright looks to throw the jab but Reinhardt is out of range.
Wright lands a right hook to the body.

Reinhardt decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wright is trying to stand back up but Reinhardt is controlling him
Reinhardt thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wright's head.
Reinhardt seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wright does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Reinhardt wants to pass the guard but Wright is defending well.
Reinhardt looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wright with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reinhardt wants to advance to full mount but Wright doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Wright has control of Reinhardt's left arm, preventing Reinhardt from doing any damage.
Reinhardt stops Wright from standing up.
Wright wants to sweep here but Reinhardt controlling him for the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reinhardt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wright is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Reinhardt slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Reinhardt throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wright works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Wright is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Payton Wright just wasn't active enough.
Wright tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Reinhardt was well out of range. Poor timing from Wright.
Reinhardt bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Wright comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Wright works Reinhardt's body with a nice hook.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reinhardt throws a leg kick but Wright moved away.
Wright throws a looping overhand right but Reinhardt ducks down to avoid it.
Wright is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Reinhardt's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Wright just misses with a punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Payton Wright will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Wright cracks Reinhardt with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Wright fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reinhardt manages to avoid it.

Horrible takedown by Reinhardt or perhaps it was just good defense by Wright which made him look bad.

Wright bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Reinhardt stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Reinhardt wants it to stay on the feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wright takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Reinhardt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wright moves away.
Wright missing with a left hand there. Reinhardt was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Wright might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

It looks like Payton Wright has been cut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wright wants to control his opponent's hands but Reinhardt gets his hands free.

Wright trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Reinhardt! Wright is hurt baaadly! Reinhardt is firing away with more strikes - Wright is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
