PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Teller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nolan Sackett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teller comes to the cage accompanied by This Life. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Nolan Sackett was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackson Teller!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nolan Sackett!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teller misses the shot to the body.
Sackett misses with a body kick.
Sackett uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Teller.
We've been told by Teller's head coaches at Nights Watch MMA Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Teller jabs at Sackett's body.
Sackett throws a nice inside leg kick.
Sackett tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Sackett throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sackett has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Teller finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Teller moves out of range as Sackett throws a body kick.
Teller throws a body punch but Sackett moves out of range.
Teller throws a hook but Sackett blocks it.
Sackett throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sackett throws a leg kick but Teller sees it coming and moves out of range.
Teller cracks Sackett with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Teller chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sackett can pounce on him.
A solid leg kick lands there for Sackett.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Teller throws a leg kick but Sackett checks it.
Teller fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sackett manages to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sackett misses with a kick to the body.
Teller thows a body shot but no joy.
Sackett is looking to land body kicks.
Teller avoids a kick to the body.
Sackett cracks Teller with a good jab.
Teller is looking to wear down Sackett with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Sackett is looking to slow Teller down with leg kicks.
Teller misses the jab.
Sackett lands a nice shot that snaps Teller's head back.
Sackett tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Teller manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sackett connects with a leg kick. Teller looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Sackett takes one to the side of the head.
Teller connects with a high kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sackett cracks the inside of Teller's front leg.
Nolan Sackett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Teller uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sackett.
Teller scores with a jab to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Teller fails to land with a series of punches.
A good leg kick by Sackett.
An inside leg kick lands from Sackett.
Sackett fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Teller has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Teller is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Teller takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Teller tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sackett throws a nice inside leg kick.
Teller on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sackett. Sackett obviously looking to wear him down.
Teller walks into a straight right hand from Sackett.
Sackett uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Teller.
Teller thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Sackett if he has to take too many more of those.
Good leg kick by Sackett there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Good standup being displayed there by Sackett as he connects with a hook.
Teller chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sackett can pounce on him.
Sackett with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Teller jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Teller misses with a straight left.

Sackett moves into range and clinches up with Teller.
Teller working hard to break the clinch.
Teller wants to break free but Sackett has control.
Sackett lands a left hand.

Teller's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Good work by Teller as he checks the leg kick.
Sackett dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Teller. That did some damage!
Sackett lands a front kick.
Teller sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Teller is breathing heavily.
Teller fails to land with a series of punches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Teller needs to keep his hands up - Sackett had a free shot at his head there.
Sackett scores with a jab to the body.
Teller takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Sackett fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Teller.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sackett ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Sackett throws a quick inside leg kick.
Teller has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sackett.
Sackett lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Teller takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Sackett's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Sackett duly obliges.
Sackett looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Sackett stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Teller takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sackett scores with a jab to the jaw.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sackett rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Teller moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A jab from Teller misses.
Sackett scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Teller moves out of range of the body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nolan Sackett dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A jab from Sackett finds it's way through Teller's defenses.
Sackett throws a leg kick which misses Teller's front leg but catches the back leg as Teller tries to avoid it.
A good leg kick by Sackett.
Sloppy strikes from Teller. Those never looked like landing.
Teller uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sackett.
Sackett scores with a nice head shot.
Sackett tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Teller moves away from the strike by Sackett.
Teller has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


Teller is rocked!
Teller is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Oh Teller is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sackett fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Teller seems to have got his legs back now.
Nolan Sackett seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Sackett throws a nice outside leg kick.
Teller sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Sackett paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Sackett walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Teller drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Sackett swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Teller's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nolan Sackett! Nolan Sackett retains his middleweight title!
