PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quin Chang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darrius Wolfe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quin Chang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darrius Wolfe!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chang tries to close the distance and clinch but Wolfe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Chang darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Wolfe has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Wolfe there as he acknowledges the shot.
Chang works the jab nicely.
Chang lands a jab.
Chang throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wolfe takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Wolfe has a takedown stuffed.
Wolfe keeps the fight on the outside.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chang lands with a good body shot.
Chang lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wolfe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chang as he jumps to the side.
A nice combination there by Chang.
Chang throws a nice looking combination but Wolfe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wolfe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chang but Chang pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Quin Chang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darrius Wolfe.
Nice uppercut there from Chang.

Wolfe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chang's waist but Chang gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wolfe off to one side.
Wolfe looks winded!

Chang moves into the clinch successfully.
Wolfe looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Chang blocks the elbow strike.
Wolfe fails to pull guard.
Wolfe prevents Chang from breaking the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Wolfe fails to land.
Wolfe tries for a takedown. No joy.
Wolfe has Chang pressed against the cage, preventing Chang from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Chang wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Chang.
Chang tries to break free but Wolfe pushes him back against the cage.
Chang looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Chang lands a left hand that snaps the head of Wolfe backwards.
Wolfe keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Chang's efforts to push away.
Wolfe tries for a takedown but Chang manages to get underhooks.
Chang wants to break free but Wolfe has control.
Chang looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Wolfe is trying desperately to land a takedown but Chang is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Wolfe.
A short right from Chang on the inside.
Chang tries to break the clinch but Wolfe is controlling the position.
Chang wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wolfe throws an elbow but it misses.

Chang is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Wolfe is trying to pull guard but Chang turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Chang's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Wolfe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Chang lands with an uppercut that bounces Wolfe off the cage and back into range.
Chang pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Wolfe back to the cage. Chang follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Chang cracks Wolfe with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Chang connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chang looks to land a combination but Wolfe avoids it well.
Chang scores with a jab.
Wolfe on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Wolfe shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Chang cracks Wolfe with a good jab.
Chang lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Chang jabs at Wolfe's body.
Darrius Wolfe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chang moves into range and connects with a jab.
Chang lands a jab-cross combination.
Chang throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wolfe stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chang tests Wolfe's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A jab lands there for Chang.
Chang tries to clinch but Wolfe is having none of it.
Chang bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Wolfe's head backwards.
Wolfe fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wolfe takes one to the side of the head.
Chang fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Chang scores with a decent looking hook.
Chang tries to close the distance and clinch but Wolfe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Chang tries to sprawl but Wolfe drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Chang looks like he's trying to stand up.
Wolfe throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Wolfe throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Wolfe with the ground and pound but Chang uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Wolfe is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quin Chang dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Chang lands with a cross.
Wolfe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Chang stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Chang wants it to stay on the feet.
Wolfe takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Wolfe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chang sprawls well. Chang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wolfe gets slowly back to his feet.
Quin Chang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darrius Wolfe.
Wolfe tries to clinch up.
Wolfe is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Nice straight punches there by Chang. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Chang.
Wolfe tries to move into range but Chang moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Chang lands with a shot to the body.
Chang dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chang lands a nice hook to Wolfe's body. Wolfe takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Wolfe is breathing heavily.
Chang tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Chang lands a jab-cross combination.
Chang throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Quin Chang is winning the standup battle so far.

Wolfe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chang tries to avoid it but Wolfe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chang to the ground. Chang escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The crowd cheers as Chang lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wolfe doesn't seem phased though.
Wolfe swats away the attempt to clinch by Chang.
Chang connects with a right hand. Wolfe shakes it off.
Chang lands a slapping body shot.
Wolfe misses with the combination.
Chang with a jab.
Chang lands with a right hand.
Chang lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Chang lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Wolfe with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Chang to score with a decent uppercut.
Chang cracks Wolfe with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Darrius Wolfe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wolfe closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chang connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Wolfe momentarily.


Wolfe is rocked!
Chang lunges at Wolfe with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wolfe's hand.
Wolfe is still on wobbly legs! Can Chang finish him?
A lazy left from Chang finds it's target.
Nice shot lands for Chang.
Chang drops Wolfe with a naaaaasty hook - Wolfe is in real trouble here! Chang dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quin Chang!
After winning the bout, Quin Chang thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
