Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Mctanned (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orlando Sax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sax is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Solonen & Kosola - Kolmetoista Kertaa Kovempi Ku Kukaan . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Mctanned!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Orlando Sax!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sax looks to throw the jab but Mctanned is out of range.
Mctanned goes for a double leg but Sax avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sax continues to drive forward.
Mctanned has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sax after a bit of a struggle.

Sax manages to break the clinch.
Sax works the jab nicely.


It looks like Paul Mctanned has been cut.
Sax tries to clinch up.
Sax just misses with a punch to the body.
Mctanned tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sax defends well and Mctanned ends up having to push Sax into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Mctanned. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mctanned drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sax pulls his leg out and moves away.
Sax tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mctanned manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sax stuffs the takedown.
Mctanned circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mctanned uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sax.
Mctanned fails with a takedown attempt.
Mctanned looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sax throws a hook but Mctanned blocks it.
Sax throws a shot from downtown. Mctanned moves away and avoids it.
Sax slaps away a takedown attempt from Mctanned, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mctanned decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Sax keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Mctanned seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Mctanned missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Mctanned is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sax defends it well.
Mctanned throwing shots but Sax is blocking nicely.

Mctanned not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Mctanned is stalling here. Sax is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mctanned seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Sax has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Mctanned is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sax's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Mctanned won't allow Sax to pass to mount.

Mctanned looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Sax throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Sax is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Mctanned gets back to full guard.
Mctanned preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sax lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.


Jeez, Paul Mctanned's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Paul Mctanned's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Orlando Sax!
An out of breath Orlando Sax thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
