The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karesky looks to land a combination but Malavino avoids it well.

Karesky is trying to maintain a safe position but Malavino gets an underhook and turns Karesky into the ropes.

Malavino is pushing Karesky up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Malavino comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Karesky tries a body shot but Malavino blocks it.

Malavino using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Karesky has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Karesky lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Malavino backwards.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Karesky feints a jab promting Malavino to slip. Karesky then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Malavino slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Karesky sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Malavino keeps the fight on the outside.
The fight stays on the outside here - Karesky looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Karesky wants to clinch but Malavino slips to the side
and Malavino counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Malavino throws a half hearted mid kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Malavino.
Karesky tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Malavino manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Malavino uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Karesky has time to react.

Karesky is rocked!

Malavino works Karesky's body with a nice hook.
Oh Karesky is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Malavino lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Karesky at a distance.
Malavino cracks Karesky with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Karesky is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Karesky is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Karesky could not beat the count!

A relieved looking Arroyo Malavino thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
