Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Cecilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Greene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cecilson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is organ donor by dj shadow. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greene takes a jab right on the kisser.

Greene has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Greene drops his hands momentarily and Cecilson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Greene throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cecilson was covering up waiting for the punch and Greene finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

It looks like Greene might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

I was talking to Cecilson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Cecilson is trying to maintain a safe position but Greene gets an underhook and turns Cecilson into the cage.

Greene changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cecilson tries to avoid it but Greene manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cecilson to the ground. Cecilson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

In his post fight interview, Cedric Cecilson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
