Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Mcdonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danny Mcdonald is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Mcdonald!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcdonald slaps away a takedown attempt from Miller, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Miller manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mcdonald on his heels. He'll look to pass Mcdonald's guard now, I'm sure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Miller trying to control but Mcdonald is working from the bottom.
Miller is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chris Miller.
Miller checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Miller has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Danny Mcdonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mcdonald paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Miller walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Mcdonald throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Miller tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mcdonald sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Miller somewhat.
Mcdonald tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice uppercut lands for Mcdonald. That snapped Miller's head back.

Miller feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mcdonald keeps trying to improve his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mcdonald can do anything to dispel that myth.

Miller working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Miller lands a couple of elbows.
Mcdonald working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Miller.
Mcdonald wants to control but Miller passes easily into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Miller cracks Mcdonald with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Mcdonald is trying to control Miller's posture but Miller avoids it.

Miller in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Mcdonald takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Mcdonald wants to control but Miller postures up.

Miller looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Miller misses with the ground and pound.
Mcdonald really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Miller tries to score with some ground and pound. Mcdonald controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mcdonald tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Miller wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Miller dominated that round.

Mcdonald throws a sloppy head kick and Miller moves out of range easily.
Mcdonald connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Miller misses with a takedown

and Mcdonald counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Miller is staying active underneath Mcdonald, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Miller is trying to stand.
Mcdonald is keen to just control but Miller is a slippery customer.
Mcdonald tries to pass the half guard into mount. Miller knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Mcdonald is trying to control. Miller wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Danny Mcdonald.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Miller.
Mcdonald tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Miller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Miller throws a strike aimed at the side of Mcdonald's head but Mcdonald avoids it well.

Mcdonald tries to buck Miller off but Miller is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mcdonald is controlling Miller's trapped leg to prevent Miller from advancing to side control.

Miller takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Mcdonald is trying to maintain the position but Miller is very close to passing his half guard.
Miller is nestled in close to Mcdonald, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Miller is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mcdonald defends it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Miller has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mcdonald defend it? Miller steps over the head and cranks it - Mcdonald is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Miller!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Chris Miller!
After winning the bout, Chris Miller thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
