The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails with a takedown attempt.
Bizimana avoids the body shot from Smith.
Sloppy strikes from Bizimana. Those never looked like landing.
Smith displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bizimana throws out the jab.
Bizimana scores with a sloppy right hand. Smith should have avoided that one.
Bizimana leaves Smith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt
and Bizimana cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Benoit Bizimana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tj Smith.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smith is defended easily by Bizimana.
Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Bizimana which made him look bad.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt - Bizimana sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Benoit Bizimana is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Bizimana counters with a crisp one two that drops Smith! Bizimana thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Smith to his feet! Smith is in big trouble!

Bizimana lands a big right hand that sends Smith crashing to the mat! Bizimana stays standing though and waves Smith back to his feet!

Smith has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Smith darts in looking for a takedown but Bizimana gets double underhooks and turns Smith into the cage.
Bizimana has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Smith tries for a takedown but Bizimana manages to get underhooks.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.

Smith manages to break the clinch.
Bizimana lands a jab.
Bizimana batters Smith with a massive right followed by a huge left! Smith is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Bizimana lands a final crushing right hand to drop Smith to the mat with a gruesome thud! Bizimana is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
