Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mason Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrick Alston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodrick Alston is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Ben Hemmingworth and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Alston darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Mason Long has been cut.
Long throws a head kick but Alston moves out of range.
Alston fails with an attempt to clinch.
Long pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Long tries to close the distance and clinch but Alston swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alston looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Alston moves into the clinch successfully.
Long is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Alston is defending well.

Long pulls guard effortlessly.
Alston postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Alston working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Alston trying to control but Long is working from the bottom.
Long looking for a sweep. Not yet Long, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alston postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alston pushes down on Long's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Long wants to control but Alston is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Alston stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Long to get to his feet.

Long gets caught flat footed, as Alston shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Alston scoring with punches to the head and body.

Long is rocked!

Long is working an open guard so Alston takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Oh Long is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Long wants to clinch but Alston slips to the side

and Alston moves into the clinch.

Alston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Alston lands a huge takedown. Long is out but the ref is slow to react and Alston lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Long lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
