The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jelani tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jelani creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Takamura sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Jelani has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

You can see the frustration on Takamura's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've been hearing that Jelani has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
