Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boyce Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Cumbernauld (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boyce Salazar has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Boyce Salazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, TJ Cumbernauld!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Salazar gets caught napping as Cumbernauld dives in and scores a takedown. Salazar manages to retain guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Salazar can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cumbernauld controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cumbernauld drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Salazar manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cumbernauld has Salazar in his guard.

Salazar controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Cumbernauld is trying to control the position but Salazar postures up.
Salazar trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cumbernauld's guard.

Cumbernauld is looking for a triangle but Salazar pushes his legs off easily.

Cumbernauld wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Salazar slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cumbernauld will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

It looks like Boyce Salazar has been cut.

Cumbernauld closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Cumbernauld wants to lay and pray for a moment but Salazar keeps working.

Salazar takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Cumbernauld closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

A solid leg kick lands there for Cumbernauld.

Salazar throws a sloppy head kick

and Cumbernauld counters by moving into the clinch.
Salazar is trying to force a seperation but Cumbernauld has the dominant position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Salazar drops his hands momentarily and Cumbernauld takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Cumbernauld fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Salazar, pushing him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cumbernauld thuds a left hand into Salazar's body.
Salazar throws a head kick that misses.

Cumbernauld stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Salazar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Salazar is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by TJ Cumbernauld.

Cumbernauld drives through and clinches with Salazar against the cage.

Cumbernauld gets control of Salazar's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cumbernauld will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Salazar wants to work for an arm triangle but Cumbernauld is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

TJ Cumbernauld showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

OK we're going to have a standup here. TJ Cumbernauld hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Salazar in particular looking to stall.

TJ Cumbernauld seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cumbernauld clinches up with Salazar and pushes him back against the cage.

Cumbernauld wants to clinch up but Salazar keeps it at a distance.
Salazar misses with a head kick.
Cumbernauld throws a leg kick which misses Salazar's front leg but catches the back leg as Salazar tries to avoid it.

Cumbernauld throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Salazar was covering up waiting for the punch and Cumbernauld finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cumbernauld closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Salazar to the mat! Salazar manages to get full guard.
Boyce Salazar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
TJ Cumbernauld is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cumbernauld tries to free his leg and advance position but Salazar is retaining full guard.

TJ Cumbernauld comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cumbernauld has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
