Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and David Hoff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holst throws a shot from downtown. Messner moves away and avoids it.

Messner closes the distance and clinches.
Holst has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Messner avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Holst tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Messner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Messner scores with a jab.
Messner moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Messner lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Messner uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Holst has time to react.

Holst is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Messner scores with a decent looking hook.
Holst is still on wobbly legs! Can Messner finish him?
Holst tries to work over Messner's front leg with a kick but Messner checks it.
Holst seems to have recovered his senses.
Holst swings for the body but Messner moves out of range.
Messner pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Holst back to the cage. Messner follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Messner is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Messner lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Holst goes down and covers up as Messner starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

After winning the bout, Mike Messner thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
