Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Myers Hockles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Montferrand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montferrand has chosen Big Joe Mufferaw as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Joseph Montferrand has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Myers Hockles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Joseph Montferrand!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hockles misses with a body kick.
Hockles ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Montferrand moves away.
Montferrand throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hockles stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Hockles closes the distance and clinches.
Hockles keeps control of Montferrand as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Hockles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hockles pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hockles takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Montferrand fails with a takedown attempt.
Montferrand misses with a wild combination.
Hockles on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Hockles misses with a body kick.
Hockles looks for the body kick but Montferrand saw that one coming.
Montferrand feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hockless jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Montferrand scores with a one two! Hockles had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Hockles has Montferrand up against the cage in a clinch.

Hockles pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Montferrand has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hockles is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Montferrand takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hockles throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Montferrand.
Hockles misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hockles lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Montferrand misses with a takedown attempt - Hockles sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Montferrand jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Myers Hockles is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hockles throws a sloppy head kick

and Montferrand counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Montferrand tries to pass to full mount but Hockles defends it.

Montferrand throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Montferrand wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hockles keeps working.

Montferrand throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Hockles to regain full guard.
Montferrand wants to control from the top but Hockles keeps moving.
Hockles working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Montferrand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hockles moves out of range of the strikes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hockles looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Montferrand on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hockles. Hockles obviously looking to wear him down.
Montferrand tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hockles was well out of range. Poor timing from Montferrand.
Hockles looks to score with a jab to the body but Montferrand is just out of range.

Hockles moves into range and clinches up with Montferrand.
Hockles keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Montferrand's efforts to push away.
Hockles keeps control of Montferrand as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Hockles with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Hockles manages to break the clinch.
Hockles goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Montferrand throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hockles.
Hockles fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Montferrand manages to avoid it.
Hockles looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hockles dodges the punch combination from Montferrand.
Hockles throws a push kick but Montferrand slaps the foot to one side.
Hockles throws a sloppy head kick and Montferrand moves out of range easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hockles looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Montferrand slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hockles connects with a leg kick. Montferrand looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Montferrand darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hockles misses with a head kick.
Hockles takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Hockles takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Myers Hockles has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Montferrand dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Montferrand thuds his right hand into Hockles's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Montferrand ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hockles moves away.
Montferrand lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hockles circles away quickly and effectively.
Montferrand throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Myers Hockles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Montferrand avoids the head kick by Hockles.
Hockles circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Montferrand drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Hockles follows Montferrand to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
