Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dan Quinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arthur Smith !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quinn takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Dan Quinn has been cut.
Smith gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.


It looks like Arthur Smith has been cut.
Quinn misses with a body kick.
Smith has a takedown stuffed.
Quinn lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Smith at a distance.
Quinn fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Smith on the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Quinn takes a swing at Smith 's ribcage but misses.
A thudding body kick lands there by Smith !
Quinn misses with a looping left.
Quinn closes the distance and clinches up with Smith , looking for a takedown. Quinn pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Smith tries a head kick but it misses.
Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet.
Smith throws a front kick aimed at Quinn's knee but Quinn avoids it well.
Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Quinn sprawls well. He's pushed Smith 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Quinn shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Quinn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Quinn throws a leg kick but Smith checks it.
Smith dives in for a single leg takedown but Quinn sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Quinn is trying to push Smith away but Smith has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Smith lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Smith takes an elbow to the forehead.
Smith goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Smith swings wildly with an uppercut but Quinn uses good head movement to avoid it.

Smith stalling the fight.
Smith wants a takedown but no success here.
Smith has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Quinn avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Quinn is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Smith struggles to land a body shot inside as Quinn controls his hands.

I was talking to Quinn's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Smith lands a hook to the side of the head.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith misses with a low kick as Quinn jumps back.
Smith doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Quinn waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smith .

Smith is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Quinn's half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Quinn is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Smith is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Smith missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Quinn is trying to get back to full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith winds up and cracks Quinn with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Quinn wants to improve his position but Smith is controlling well.
Smith not doing much here.
Smith trying to control from half guard but Quinn is working away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Smith tries to pass the half guard into mount. Quinn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Arthur Smith will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Smith moves out of range as Quinn strikes.
Quinn lands a head shot.
Quinn shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.
Smith tries a low kick but Quinn avoids it.

Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Quinn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Quinn keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Quinn tries to buck Smith off but Smith is having none of it.
Smith wants to control but Quinn is keeping him busy.
Quinn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Quinn tries to get out of the position.
Smith working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
You can see the frustration on Quinn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Quinn is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Smith creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Quinn sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Smith controls the position.
Smith works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Quinn tries to buck Smith off but Smith is having none of it.
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Quinn keeps working.
Quinn struggling a bit here.
Quinn looks to move to half guard but instead Smith has passed into mount! Damn!
Smith lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.


Quinn is rocked!
Smith lands a big shot to the head and Quinn winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Arthur Smith !
A very excited looking Arthur Smith rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Dan Quinn was interviewed post fight and said 'next time ill pride stamp this jackass'.
