The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joyner gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Joyner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Barao defends it easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barao moves nicely into side control.
Barao tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Joyner is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Barao is controlling him well.

Joyner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Barao on the ground.
