Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rory Markman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiger Mask (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mask has chosen Wait, what? OH MY GOD, Tiger has joined the Dark Side!! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rory Markman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tiger Mask!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Reed Andrews and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Markman.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mask has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Mask throws a quick inside leg kick.
Mask throws the kick towards the body but Markman avoids it.
Markman takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Donk. Mask catches Markman right on the button with a cross.


It looks like Rory Markman has been cut.
Markman showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mask.
Mask throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've been hearing reports that Markman has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Markman takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mask walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Markman checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Markman counters with a one-two to the body.

Mask wants to sweep but no luck.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Markman postures up in Mask's guard and throws a big left but Mask blocks it.

Markman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Markman throws an elbow that misses. Mask uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Markman's guard. Nice move by Mask!

Mask wants to control from the top but Markman keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mask stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Markman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mask throws a shot from downtown. Markman moves away and avoids it.
Mask pivots, looking for a leg kick but Markman is out of range and Mask settles back down.

Mask connects with a nice looking jab.

Markman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Mask utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Markman counters with a lovely shot to the body.

and Markman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mask's guard now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Markman is looking to work some ground and pound but Mask has wrist control.
Mask has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Markman postures up and lands a big shot to Mask's brow.
Mask utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mask throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Markman is in close to Mask's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mask is striking but Markman is not phased and passes to half guard.

Markman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mask with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Markman is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mask is pressing down on Markman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Mask manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Markman wants to control but Mask is having none of it.

Mask cracks Markman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Markman tries to hold on but Mask pushes him away.
Markman is squirming around, avoiding Mask's attempts to control the action.

Mask lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Mask prevents Markman from getting the reversal.
Mask throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Mask is landing with some decent strikes but Markman is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Markman sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close second round but I would say that Rory Markman will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Mask lands with an overhand left.
Mask does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Mask fails to land with a series of punches.
Markman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mask.
Mask looks to land a combination but Markman avoids it well.
Mask missing with a left hand there. Markman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Markman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mask misses with a looping left.

Mask misses with a low kick.
Mask slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.


Rory Markman's cut is getting worse.
A big left from Mask misses.

Markman is rocked!
Tiger Mask seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mask shoots in looking for a takedown but Markman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mask's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Oh Markman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Markman moves out of range as Mask strikes.

Mask wants to control from the top but Markman keeps moving.
Markman seems to have got his legs back now.
Markman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mask throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mask swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Mask takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Mask scores with a decent looking hook.
Mask tries to score with a low kick but Markman moves his leg out of the way.

I think Mask has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
