Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taw DawTang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Merkan Killmaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). DawTang comes to the cage accompanied by Imperial March. Killmaz has chosen In tribute to an amazing artist R.I.P. as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Taw DawTang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Merkan Killmaz!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DawTang fails in his attempt to clinch.
DawTang takes a kick to the side of the head.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Killmaz lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and DawTang has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from DawTang and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Killmaz throws a head kick but DawTang moves out of range.
DawTang has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Killmaz.
Killmaz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
DawTang misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
DawTang displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Killmaz throws out the jab.

Killmaz gets caught napping as DawTang dives in and scores a takedown. Killmaz manages to retain guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
DawTang trying to control the position from guard on top but Killmaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

DawTang drops back looking for a leg! Killmaz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Killmaz manages to kick DawTang off! DawTang jumps back into Killmaz's guard.
DawTang is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Killmaz wants to sweep but no luck.
DawTang pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Killmaz is keeping the position for now.
Killmaz is pulling down on DawTang's head. It's preventing any offense from DawTang, at least for the moment.
Killmaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with DawTang. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Killmaz wants to sweep here but DawTang controlling him for the moment.
DawTang wants to control from the top but Killmaz keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Killmaz lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Killmaz has his hands clasped together around DawTang's back. He's all about the action.

DawTang tries to pass the half guard into mount. Killmaz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
DawTang frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Killmaz is trying desperately to improve position.
Killmaz tries to hold on but DawTang postures up.

DawTang jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Killmaz manages to avoid the submission attempt.

DawTang tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no DawTang has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Killmaz is looking for a sweep.
Killmaz can't do much from the bottom here.

DawTang working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Killmaz is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
DawTang tries to move to mount but Killmaz blocks the move with his legs.

DawTang is trying to get an arm triangle but Killmaz is defending well.

DawTang is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Killmaz knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Killmaz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but DawTang wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
DawTang is looking to take a break and control but Killmaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Taw DawTang will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Killmaz throws a sloppy head kick and DawTang moves out of range easily.
Killmaz buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Merkan Killmaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Killmaz scores with a leg kick.
Killmaz lands a high kick!
Killmaz misses with a hook.
Killmaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Killmaz looks to land a combination. DawTang sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Merkan Killmaz seems to be getting the better of the standup.
DawTang avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Killmaz fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt DawTang.

Killmaz tries a low kick but DawTang avoids it.
Killmaz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
DawTang tries to clinch there but Killmaz circles away.
Killmaz lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Killmaz throws a solid leg kick but DawTang takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Killmaz.
DawTang doesn't manage to clinch there - Killmaz circles away.
Killmaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Killmaz is breathing heavily.
DawTang tries to close the distance and clinch but Killmaz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Killmaz cracks the inside of DawTang's front leg.

DawTang closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
DawTang wants to control but Killmaz is keeping him busy.

DawTang is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
DawTang looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

DawTang is working for a submission of some sort.

DawTang prevents Killmaz from improving his position.

DawTang is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

DawTang is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Killmaz tries to get to full guard but DawTang has control of the leg.

Killmaz is defending against the submission attempts here by DawTang.

DawTang wants to work for an arm triangle but Killmaz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Killmaz is looking for a sweep. DawTang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

DawTang is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Killmaz is just riding it out for now. DawTang eventually gives up the hold.
Killmaz wants to get back to full guard but DawTang has mounted him!
Killmaz can't escape the position.
DawTang fails to move to back control.

DawTang working for a submission but Killmaz is keeping him at bay.

Killmaz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

DawTang with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
DawTang works his way to his opponent's back.

DawTang working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Killmaz is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and DawTang has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Killmaz taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Taw DawTang!
An out of breath Taw DawTang thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
