PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jonqw Fray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and First Soul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonqw Fray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, First Soul!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soul shoots for a takedown but Fray saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Soul enables Fray to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Soul manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fray shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fray was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fray shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Soul's guard.

Soul utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

OK we're going to have a standup here. First Soul hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Fray looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Soul really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fray. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Soul keeping moving, preventing Fray from controlling successfully.

We've been hearing that Fray has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Fray is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Soul doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fray.
Fray seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Soul does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Fray moves into full mount! Soul won't be happy about that!

Fray moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Soul has worked his arm free - good work by Soul!

Soul tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Fray trying to control the position but Soul is working away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonqw Fray dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Fray walks into a stiff left hand from Soul.

Fray scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Fray looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Soul with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Fray maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Soul could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Fray has cracked it and Soul is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Fray!
