The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mitchell closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Jones Jr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mitchell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mitchell is in close to Jones Jr's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mitchell looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mitchell won't allow Jones Jr to sweep him here.
Mitchell postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mitchell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mitchell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That was a close round but I would say that SJ Mitchell will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mitchell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones Jr's waist but Jones Jr gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mitchell off to one side.
Mitchell thows a body shot but no joy.
Jones Jr lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Jones Jr scores with a hook to the body. Mitchell takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Mitchell throws out a loose jab but Jones Jr uses good head movement to avoid it.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Mitchell here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Mitchell takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jones Jr scores with a one two! Mitchell had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Jones Jr dances in with a quick combination. Mitchell is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Jones Jr snaps Mitchell 's head back. Mitchell stumbles backwards against the cage. Jones Jr steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Mitchell 's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Mitchell just didn't come prepared.

A very excited looking Marlon Jones Jr rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
